We trust that the whole experience from the initial consultation to the act of playing a round of golf should be an enjoyable one. Bob's expansive experience playing golf around the world has helped him become a designer sensitive to the needs of the automatic environment, aware of the developer's wishes to create an economically viable project and an understanding of the players' desire for an interesting and challenging journey. However Bob's love of playing the game was quiet immense so he combined his new business with the European Seniors Tour. He started out helping to exist clubs remodel and upgrade their courses in between competition on the Tour. Gradually the design business has taken over priority and new courses are now being designed and constructed in Asia and Australia by Shearer Golf Design. His immense knowledge of golf strategy and playing the game has helped to prosper an individual style for the positioning of organically shaped bunkers and hazards into the existing land forms to create aesthetically pleasing golf courses. Bob's many years of transient the world playing golf has prepared Com for the many courses over 30 years he has a vast accepting of the subtle challenges confronting the golf architect. Five years were spent on the European Tour before moving his family to the USA where he played successfully on the US GA Tour for nine years. During his playing days Bob was on the GA tour board for 6 years where he prejudiced the end outcome of many tournaments throughout Australasia. Bob is currently a member of the Society of Golf Course Architects. He has written for many newspapers and gold magazines and is often portion of the television commentary team at major tournaments throughout Australia. Additionally she has extensive networks and this couples with her marketing and organizational skills make her a cherished member of the golf course architects team. Our goal is to create a hard golf course: for the eye, for the mind and the body. Good design is achieved when the golf course architect fully understands and appreciates the game of golf, the purpose of the course and its planned users, the construction techniques and processes, and the existing and instinctive environments. Shearer Golf Design respects the traditions of golf as typified by the wind swept coastal dunes of the Used Course at St. Andrews, but we realize that the game of golf has moved on. As more people around the world are exposed to golf the look of the golf course has changed to suit each individual environment.
